‘C’… hard c sound when followed by ‘a, o or u’, soft c sound when followed by ‘e or i’ (caro, corto, cuyo… cero, tocino) ‘G’… hard g sound when followed by ‘a, o or u’, soft g sound when followed by ‘e or i’ (garaje, gorra, gusano… girar, gente) ‘H’… siempre silento (hola, honduras) ‘J’… like an ‘h’ (jota, jarra, garaje)

‘LL’… sounds like a y in English (llamo, llano, llanura) ‘Ñ’… sounds like an N followed by a Y (pestaña, castaño) ‘Qu’… sounds like an English ‘K’ (que, quien) ‘V’… sounds like a soft English ‘B’ (veinte, vestido) ‘Z’… sounds like a soft English ‘S’ (zorro, zamora) ‘rr’… a trilled ‘r’ sound (carro, aburrido)
