1. WHAT DID JESUS ACCOMPLISH ON THE CROSS? WHY DID JESUS HAVE TO DIE? 1God created mankind to have a faithful relationship with Him. 2Man rebelled against God and SIN entered the world. MAN GOD MAN GOD SIN GOD WHO IS PERFECT HAS TO PUNISH SIN!!

2. GOD LOVED MAN SO MUCH THAT HE DECIDED TO PAY THE PRICE HIMSELF! HOW? HE CAME TO EARTH TO BECOME A MAN, AND DIE FOR US! 3God had a choice to either: ALeave man to pay the price for his sinfulness. BFind someone else to pay the price for man. Acts 2:23 NIV 23 This man was handed over to you by GOD’S SET PURPOSE AND FOREKNOWLEDGE; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.

3. WHAT DID JESUS ACCOMPLISH ON THE CROSS? SINSIN GOD'S MOTIVE LOVE REPENT & BELIEVE ACCEPTEDREJECTED HEAVENHELL GOODNESS DIDN’T WANT TO KNOW

4. A JUDGE HAD A TRAMP BROUGHT BEFORE HIM AND HE WAS FOUND TO BE GUILTY OF BEING DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. THE JUDGE FINED THE TRAMP BUT HE COULD NOT PAY. THE JUDGE LEFT THE COURT AND PAID THE FINE. THE FINE HAD BEEN PAID, THE LAW UPHELD AND THE TRAMP WAS FREE TO GO! THIS IS WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR US!

5. WHAT DID JESUS ACCOMPLISH ON THE CROSS? (Phil 4:19 NIV) And my God will meet all your NEEDS according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Isa 53:5 NIV) But he was pierced for our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was crushed for our INIQUITIES; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, SCRIPTURE JESUS BELIEVERS He was PUNISHED We are FORGIVEN

6. (Isa 53:4 NIV) Surely he took up our INFIRMITIES (anxiety, grief,sickness, weakness). (Isa 53:4 NIV) and carried our SORROWS (pains of all sorts; physical, emotional & spiritual). (Isa 53:5 NIV) and by his wounds we are HEALED (heal, repair, make whole). SCRIPTURE JESUS BELIEVERS He was WOUNDED We are HEALED

7. (2 Cor 5:21 NIV) God made him who had no sin to be SIN for us, so that in him we might become the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God. SCRIPTURE JESUS BELIEVERS He was made SIN With our SINFULNESS We are made RIGHTEOUS with His RIGHTEOUS NESS

8. (Heb 2:9 NIV) But we see Jesus..... now crowned with glory and honour because he suffered DEATH, so that by the grace of God he might taste DEATH for everyone. (Rom 6:23 NIV) For the wages of sin is DEATH, but the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE in Christ Jesus our Lord. SCRIPTURE JESUS BELIEVERS He died OUR DEATH We share In HIS LIFE

9. (2 Cor 8:9 NIV) For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes HE BECAME POOR; so that you through his poverty MIGHT BECOME RICH. SCRIPTURE JESUS BELIEVERS He became POOR with our POVERTY We become RICH with His RICHES

10. (Heb 12:2 NIV) Let us fix our eyes on Jesus.... who for the joy set before him endured the cross, SCORNING ITS SHAME, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. SCRIPTURE JESUS BELIEVERS He bore our SHAME We share His GLORY

11. (Mat 27:46 NIV) About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "My God, my God, why have you FORSAKEN me?" SCRIPTURE JESUS BELIEVERS He endured our REJECTION We receive God's ACCEPTANCE

12. (Gal 3:13 NIV) Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a CURSE for us, for it is written: "CURSED is everyone who is hung on a tree. SCRIPTURE JESUS BELIEVERS He took the CURSE We receive the BLESSING JESUS WENT THROUGH ALL THIS FOR YOU!
