Wind Side of the E6-B Step 1Place grommet over 100 (grommet is circle in center of the window) Step 2Align Wind Direction with True Index Step 3Place Wind Dot up from grommet Step 4Align True Index with True Track Step 5Place Wind Dot over True Airspeed Step 6View Wind Correction Angle under Wind Dot Step 7Read Ground Speed under grommet
2
Step 1Place grommet over 100 Place circle in the center of window over 100.
3
Step 2Align wind Direction with True Index Place wind direction across from true index. Wind direction in this example is 050°.
4
Step 3Place Wind Dot up from grommet Place a dot upward from grommet measuring wind strength. In this example, the wind is 20 knots.
5
Step 4Align True Index with True Track Place TT across from true index. In this example, the TT is 190°.
6
Step 5Place Wind Dot over True Airspeed Place Wind Dot over True Airspeed. In this example, the True Airspeed is 106 Knots.
7
Step 6View Wind Correction Angle under Wind Dot View WCA under Wind Dot. The Wind Dot is 8° to the left. Therefore, you subtract WCA from TT. –Drift LeftVar East –Drift RightVar West
8
Step 7Read Ground Speed under grommet Read ground speed under grommet In this example, the ground speed is 120 knots.
