The small intestine scans for any protein or important nutrients that were still in the solid clump. The solid waste then leaves the intestine and goes into the large intestine. 5. The cells get oxygen from the circulatory system. In return the cell gives carbon dioxide, used oxygen, back to the red blood cell.
