5 How sponsorship helps Throughout the year I have to travel around the country and to some international regattas. Any sponsorship I get would allow me to carry on doing this and to help with additional costs, for example: Equipment Equipment Kit Kit Entry fees Entry fees Cost of multiple GB training camps Cost of multiple GB training camps GB trials GB trials Food and nutrition Food and nutrition This year I am trying to raise £12,000 for a new single scull, to replace my current boat. My current boat is 12 years old and so wear and tear is taking its toll – It is also getting too small for me! The replacement would be an Empacher and looks like this:

7 The Press Coverage I Receive I have a Facebook page dedicated to my rowing career which I update regularly to show how my training is going where I am competing how I have gone on so sponsors can follow my progress. I have had articles in newspapers such as: Halifax Courier Halifax Courier Todmorden News Todmorden News Rochdale Observer Rochdale Observer Rochdale Online Rochdale Online Rowing and Regatta magazine Rowing and Regatta magazine

8 Jess is an exceptional athlete – she constantly performs at the highest level of junior and senior rowing. Her dedication and commitment to the sport is total. To watch her train and race is awe inspiring and she has inspired many other members of HLRC to try and achieve more. Sportsman often say they give 110% I believe Jess actually does! – 2 nd place is not good enough. Her future sports career looks bright as she makes the transition from junior to senior rowing – GB coaches are already suggesting she will be selected to represent GB at the Youth Olympics in Australia next year.
