Double click on the table to enter values. 1.A single DP/IO Bus Link will support 14 fully configured I/O modules. 2.A single DP/IO Bus Link can support up to a maximum of 28 I/O modules 3.A single AS 417F controller can support 2 DP/IO Bus Links 4.How do I know if the Link can support more than 14 I/O modules? Each I/O Module Channel Type utilizes a different amount of memory within the AS 417F controller. The total amount of memory available for a single DP Master is 64k (65,536) bytes. Use the following calculator to determine the number of I/O modules that can be supported for a specific installation.

You must take into account spare channels needed for future expansion.

Three (3) CCMs can be replaced with one (1) AS 417F controller. Benefits; reduced costs, elimination of controller to controller communications, architecture, and controller logic simplification. SOE channel types can be configured, however they will function as a normal discrete inputs. 4.DP/IO Bus Link does not support Modbus communications. For architectures were Modbus devices have been integrated into the CCM, they will have to be connected to the AS 417F controller using ET200 I/Os and the CP341.
