3. 2012 will see the return of the prestigious Pendennis Cup to the waters of Falmouth Bay, Cornwall. 5 days of exciting superyacht racing for modern and classic yachts. 6. Over 80 online and print articles about the Cup were published. Information and footage of the cup was exposed on regional television and radio, with live interviews conducted during the week by the BBC. Over 350 industry colleagues took part in the Cup over the 6 day event including Superyacht Owners, Captains, journalists, brokers, designers, naval architects and suppliers. Successful events were held around the racing programme including a Welcome Barbecue at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club, Caribbean Party Night, VIP Lunch, Crew & VIP Curry Night, Falmouth Art Gallery Private View and the final Awards Presentation. 7. Pendennis and Antigua Yacht Club partnered to organise a Trans- Atlantic fun regatta to feed in to the UK 2012 Olympic superyacht programme The Falmouth – Falmouth Rum Race will run in the opposite direction to the traditional Route de Rosé - beginning at the Antigua Yacht Club in Falmouth Harbour, following Antigua classics with the option for yachts to start earlier if they prefer, with a possible stop in the Azores on route.
