Initial CW Testing Injected CW signal in each sector to collect data defining sectors coverage Based on the CW coverage, issues were identified due to antennas locations and the type of antennas used. Removed all CSI panel antennas due to its poor pattern and performed azimuth and tilting chanages to the xcap antennas
4
The system has power limitation, and cannot support the necessary power to provide dominant server for each sector. If gain is added, the system can override at the full load. To resolve the override issue, more RAUs need to be added to the system. One RAU per each sector. (at red arrows) Poor antenna patens are used in the design Macro sites have higher coverage than DAS Throughput is low even outside the stadium Cables with high loss are used between the RAU and antennas Observations

First Set of Changes Removing all CSI Panel Antennas that is causing sectors’ bleeding and higher SHO.

After 1 st Set of Changes 5 dB Additional Gain + Removing CSI Panel Antennas + XCAP Antenna Azimuth and Tilting Adjustments SHO Improved by 50%
10
Second Set of Changes -Relocate CSI Panel Antennas to the middle of the sectors instead of the sectors edges, so we can take advantage of the antennas pattern. And close coverage gaps. - Increase sectors 6 & 7 gain from 5 to 7 dB -Lower sectors 2, 3, 4 &5 gain from 5 to 3 dB
11
After 2 nd set of changes to sectors 5, 6 & 7 7 dB Additional Gain 3 dB Additional Gain Note that the SHO degraded from 33% to 41% as a side effect of fixing converge holes resulted from the fist set of changes on 10/31 due splitters loss. The coverage holes were fixed by adjusting the sectors gain.
12
After 2 nd set of changes to sectors 2, 3 & 4 Note the degradation to the SHO in the area covered by sectors 2, 3 & 4 due the gain adjustment from 5 to 3 dB. The gain should be reversed back to 5 dB or higher. Also similar antenna additions and changes to sectors 5, 6, &7 should be applied to sectors 2, 3, & 4 Note the degradation to the SHO in the area covered by sectors 2, 3 & 4 due the gain adjustment from 5 to 3 dB. The gain should be reversed back to 5 dB or higher. Also similar antenna additions and changes to sectors 5, 6, &7 should be applied to sectors 2, 3, & 4
13
Coverage after optimization-11/1/2012 Note the improvement in coverage of sectors 5,6 & 7 Coverage of sectors 2,3 & 4 still needs further work
14
Coverage+PSC after optimization-11/1/2012 Notice the dominance of each sector except for few spots where it need to be addressed by increasing the antennas ERIP in these areas. Suggested solution is to add more RAU

23
Recommendation! There are 2 options to reduce the SHO in this area and create dominant server: 1.Using directional antennas instead of the Omni antennas 2.If Omni antenna is kept, it should at least be moved inward away from sectors 4 & 5 to reduce overlap. This overlap is degrading sectors 4 & 5 performance

Action Required – Relocate antennas to concrete beams that run across concourse areas. Locate antennas on beams such that they face or run with flow of pedestrian traffic. Establish back to back antenna points for better sector definition. Back to back antenna example Recommendations for the Under-bleachers area

Next Steps Finish optimization of sectors 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 and 10. – Deploy two installation crew. The first crew to implement the changes and the second crew to work with the optimization team during the testing. – CW injection is needed it to verify the coverage area of newly added antennas and adjust the overlap areas. – Antennas cannot be moved far from the RAU due to the power limitation of the RAU. When re-locating the antennas the RAU should be moved with the antennas. – Add RAU to each sector to resolve the power limitation issues Replace all “142” high-loss cables with ½” plenum cables between the RAU and antennas Verify power levels at the input of each antennas to match the design levels and adjust power accordingly. Once all sectors are optimized a final walk test needs to be completed
