I don't think I ever would have anticipated hearing what I have heard. In my naivety, I thought I should start by mapping the current system... After about two weeks I completely gave up because it was impossible to do!

Importantly, asking how the state government is going to play a role in building a broad community consensus for the need and implementation of NDIS? We have established an NDIS secretariat located in the Premiers Department.  The real threat is that we allow the NDIS to become a political football in the great Australian sport of federal state buck passing.

We need to make sure that that door opens and as a result, our leaders introduce a scheme. Each of us need to go back to our states and talk to our local politicians to make sure that they too support an NDIS at the state level... not just in principle but in practice.”
