7 Discussing Issues Since this is the first meeting after e-Culture was approved to be a Working Group in APAN, this meeting will focus on the design of an e-Culture platform and further collaboration in Asia and Pacific. 22nd APAN Meeting in Singapore [ July 17-21, 2006]

8 Discussing Issues 1. Toward an e-Culture Platform Although utilization of ICT in research process is expanding in all of academic disciplines including Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences, knowledge or know-how about the methods and data tends to be limited within a certain radius. For this reason, we would like to discuss the current condition and future direction of the platform for sharing data (or meta-data), gathering experiences and expertise,and global collaboration via network in studies related to the eCulture. ( For example, food culture database or dictionary in Asia & Pacific ) 2. Collab. with Pacific Neighborhood Consortium (PNC) PNC 2006 Annual Conference will be held in Seoul National University, Hoam Faculty House, 16-18 August 2006. On 18th August, the APAN eCulture is planning to organize the e-Culture session in PNC 2006. Based on the explanation by Prof. Sato, further collaboration style between the APAN eCulture and the PNC will be discussed. 3.
