Reading District Vision  We believe......in an active, text-rich, supportive literacy classroom.  The components of a balanced/workshop approach provided daily.  Explicit instruction woven through the components of a balanced/workshop approach.  Reading, writing, listening and speaking provided in context vs. isolation.  Daily, on-going assessment and evaluation to monitor student progress. Effective literacy instruction begins with assessment and is a continuous operation that is at the heart of teaching and learning.
