2. System Objectives The objective of this system is to ensure that rules and procedures are followed by every student and are enforced consistently by each team teacher, in all situations. This system will also provide the opportunity for a student to correct behavioral issues before more serious consequences may be implemented. We hope to create an educational environment in which discipline is consistent across all 8 th grade teams.

4. Student “Triple-R” Files For each infraction, a team teacher will record the incident on an recognition report form. The infraction will then be recorded in the student’s file where the recognition report will be placed. At the beginning of the new semester, each student will start a new record, in essence have a clean slate. 5. Student “Triple-R” Files If you receive an infraction, your HR teacher will receive a copy of the Recognition Report and a Reflection Report. You will be asked to complete the Reflection Report and return to your HR teacher by the determined date. Failure to do so will result in additional infraction. Responsibility Conferences Three Infractions: Team Conference Five Infractions: Parent Conference Seven Infractions: Behavior Contract with Behavior Management Specialist Eight Infractions: Immediate referral to administration for further action **Each additional infraction will be referred directly to the office.

7. After School Detention This year 8 th Grade will be utilizing After School Detention in combination with our RRR System. After School Detention will occur once a week (day of week to be determined) any may be assigned upon teacher discretion.

9. Dress Code: Things to know… Everyone: Ripped jeans, hoods up on hoodies, inappropriate t-shirts (language, pictures, etc) are not permitted. Boys: Exposed undergarments, pants worn below the waist, sleeveless shirts, and hats being worn in the building during the day are not allowed. Girls: Skirts and shorts that do not meet the required length, shirts that are revealing, and shirts that do not have thick enough straps are prohibited.

10. Flex: Things to know… Flex starts at 10:53. Come to flex prepared! To visit another teacher on your team you will fill out a pass describing your reason for visiting. To visit a teacher outside your team you must have a pre-signed pass from the teacher you wish to visit.

11. Electronic Devices: Things to know… Once you walk in the building all electronic devices (cell phones, ipods, etc.) will be turned off and kept out of site. If they are seen/heard they will be taken from you and turned into the office. You are not permitted to turn on electronic devices until you exit the building or the school day has officially ended (Group “B” buses are gone). They will be taken from you and turned into the office.

12. Insubordination: Things to Know Insubordination is disobeying a reasonable request from your teacher (i.e. A teacher tells you to take off a hat and you do, but then walk away and put it back on again, refusing to do what the teacher asked, or talking back to a teacher when reprimanded).

13. Behavior for Substitute Teachers: Things to Know Any negative feedback from a substitute teacher will result in an infraction.

14. What You Need to Know Consider this as your warning. Everyone will receive the same type of consequence for not following one of the 4 key rules. Consequences will be given by your teachers for each rule you choose not to follow - no negotiations. This information will be shared with substitutes; the same expectations and consequences will apply.

15. Your disagreement with a rule or procedure does not give you permission to not follow it.

16. If you choose to not follow the rules, you will have chosen to accept the consequences. Make good choices!
