In English, all sentences have a subject(sujeto) and a verb(verbo). This is true for sentences in Spanish, too. Subject: the person or thing that is being described or is doing something. Verb: the action word

Mrs. Perez is my teacher. She is from Madrid.
4
Pronouns are words that replace the subject. Juan is my friend. He is my friend. Julia is my classmate. She is my classmate.
5
English sentences ALWAYS have a subject or a subject pronoun. Spanish sentences do not have to have either if the subject is implied. ◦ Emilia es mi amiga. Es alta (tall). ◦ Yo soy Victoria. Soy Victoria ◦ Jorge es mi amigo. Es guapo (handsome).
6
Some pronouns that you have already seen are: Él (he) Ella (she) Usted (you-formal)

Underline the subject and circle the verb. +Hint: right now the only verbs you know are es(is) and soy(am) Señorita Parikh es la profesora. Ella es rubia. Diego es mi mejor amigo. Anais es una muchacha. Andres es estudiante. Pedro es un muchacho.
