2. Water Underground Not all surface water ends up in lakes and ponds. Much of the water soaks into the soil, but where exactly does it go? Even though many communities use reservoirs, man-made lakes that provide water, there is still a large population of people that rely on underground wells. Today, we will look at how aquifers, or underground sediment that holds water, form.
