5 Municipal Economy Rich in mineral raw materials, boasting deposits of gravel, sand, heat-resistant clay, lignite and building stone Water sources still untapped The area configuration and characteristics suitable for the development of agriculture The villages surrounding Ub town specialise in agricultural cultivation within plasticized greenhouses 151 active companies (2007) 143 classed as small enterprises (up to 50 employees) and eight as medium-sized firms

6 Municipal Economy 1,851 employees (2007) 986 in small companies and 865 in medium-sized companies Gross earnings per capita in 2007 amounted to 37,496.00 (around 400 euros) dinars per month Total income (2007): 6,715,392,000.00 dinars (around 73 million euros) Total expenditure (2007): 6,459,137,000 dinars (around 70 million euros) Companies based in the municipality generated profits worth 256,255,000 dinars (around 2,8 million euros) The greatest revenue in the processing industry The greatest losses in the field of transport and the real estate business

7 Municipal Economy The total value of Ubs foreign trade exchange in 2007 was $6.2 million 43% EU countries Exports valued at $3.8 million and imports at $2.4 million Foreign trade exchange surplus worth $ 1.4 million Most important export items: plastic products ($1.3 million), construction materials ($1.1 million) and meat ($ 0.5 million), followed by aluminium, iron and steel products Employment growth of 8.8%, or 322 workers, was achieved in 2007 Total of 3,988 citizens registered as employed (of which 1,047 were classed as self-employed) and 2,364 unemployed jobseekers in the Ub Municipality.

8 Industrial Zone Adopted an Urban Plan for an Industrial Zone The area of 70 hectares alongside the road Ub - Obrenovac - Belgrade Local authorities only own about five hectares of the 70- hectare site, with the rest belonging to Energoprojekt, Plam Isotherms and the private sector. The zone is fully equipped with communal infrastructure The Ub East Industrial Zone to be located along the projected route of the future Zagreb - South Adriatic highway and the required land has already been expropriated

9 Investor Incentives Provided incentives for investment through reduced obligations to pay property taxes, local utility charges, fees for reassigning construction land Offering compensation for arranging construction land, compensation for environmental protection and improvement, exemptions from municipal administrative fees and construction land lease charges. The municipality offers partial compensation for the land use change and urban development plans Offered special benefits for investors hiring new employees, while prospective investors can also count on obtaining all necessary permits and documentation in a very short period of time

10 Sports and Culture More than 2,000 local people are engaged in sport and by years end a modern sports hall will be completed A city pool and lakes Viš in Paljuvi and Fazanerija.
