Revolutionary DSP

Meeting the Needs Front panel, tunable digital IF filters give you an ultra-sharp pass band IF. The 32 Bit DSP along with the 24 Bit AD/DA Converter provides an ultra wide ADC dynamic range of 144dB. DSP Controlled AGC 24 Bit AD/DA Converter 32 Bit Floating Point DSP Digital IF Filters Revolutionary DSP

Meeting the Needs Weak signal work is easier now with the help of the DSP controlled Multiple AGC Loops. This system removes blocking by strong adjacent signals, with virtually no more pumping of the AGC. Finally you have user selectable time constants for the three AGC presets. (Fast, Mid, and Slow.) 9 Meeting the Needs Digital Noise Reduction Automatic Manual Notch Filter DPSN Digital Phase Shift Network Digital IF Filters The IC-756PRO covers a wide frequency range, 30kHz to 60MHz. The dynamic range of the receiver is 105dB with a high intercept point of +23dBm. Icom’s original DDS (Direct Digital synthesizer) provides superior phase noise to improve dynamic range. A high stability crystal oscillator, CR-338, is stock for the PLL Reference oscillator (± 0.5ppm 0-50  C). Uncompromised Receiver Performance

Impressive Receiver Receiver Range: 0.03~60MHz Digital Demodulation for all Modes Dynamic Range of 105dB with a High Intercept Point of +23dB 3 Selectable AGC Speeds

Meeting the Needs Digital Noise Reduction Automatic Manual Notch Filter DPSN Digital Phase Shift Network Digital IF Filters 31, 100Hz steps between the 3600-600Hz and 10, 50Hz steps between the 500-50Hz ranges, will allow the receive pass band to be tweaked for optimum performance. No other radio gives you as wide of a range with visual indicators as the IC-756PRO  Uncompromised Receiver Performance

Meeting the Needs Digital Noise Reduction Automatic Manual Notch Filter DPSN Digital Phase Shift Network Digital IF Filters A Digital PSN (Phase Shift Network) is employed at the modulator/demodulator level. The result is high quality receive signals for all voice operations. The new 32 Bit Floating Point DSP allows the IC-756PRO to have both a Manual and Automatic Notch Filter. The Manual Notch achieves more than a 70dB attenuation, which is great to eliminate annoying tones the Automatic Notch Filter can not cover. Uncompromised Receiver Performance

Meeting the Needs Digital Noise Reduction Automatic Manual Notch Filter DPSN Digital Phase Shift Network Digital IF Filters The new DSP used in the IC-756PRO digitally separates desired signal components from noise components. Outstanding signal to noise ratio is achieved, providing clean, clear audio in SSB, easy to copy RTTY and crisp, clear SSTV reception. In addition, the Digital Noise Reduction has a continuously adjustable noise suppression level. Uncompromised Receiver Performance

Meeting the Needs The NEW DSP used in the IC-756PRO offers transmit audio tailoring never available before as standard equipment. Microphone Equalization, RF Speech compression, along with the Digital Phase Shift Network give a clean, low distortion signal. Highly Stable Transmitter DPSN Digital Phase Shift Network RF Speech Compressor Microphone Equalizer Unparalleled Transmit Audio

Meeting the Needs Highly Stable Transmitter DPSN Digital Phase Shift Network RF Speech Compressor Microphone Equalizer The NEW microphone equalizer in the IC-756PRO gives you 121 audio variation properties, 11 in the high and 11 in the low sound ranges. This allow you to find that perfect transmit signal you are looking for. Unparalleled Transmit Audio

Meeting the Needs Highly Stable Transmitter DPSN Digital Phase Shift Network RF Speech Compressor Microphone Equalizer The IC-756PRO has truly drawn the line between previous models and their standard equipped processors. The 32 bit capacity of the DSP allows the speech processor to compress the transmitter audio input. This increases the average output audio level. Bottom line, average talk power is increased. Unparalleled Transmit Audio

RF Compression Comparison

Meeting the Needs Highly Stable Transmitter DPSN Digital Phase Shift Network RF Speech Compressor Microphone Equalizer As with the receiver, the transmit audio passes through the Digital PSN (Phase Shift Network). The SSB modulator uses the PSN modulator in the 32 Bit DSP. This creates a 10db improvement in the S/N ratio compared to previous models. The result is a consistently reproducible, clear transmit audio for all voice operations. Unparalleled Transmit Audio

Meeting the Needs Highly Stable Transmitter DPSN Digital Phase Shift Network RF Speech Compressor Microphone Equalizer The IC-756PRO has a newly adopted high rating power transistor (2SC5125 x 2) in the PA circuit. With the die-cast aluminum frame and large cooling fan to help stabilize the PA circuit providing 100% full duty cycle operation at full power. Unparalleled Transmit Audio

4.9” TFT Color LCD display  Wider Viewing Angle and Increased Information Real Time Spectrum Scope Memory or Memo-Pad List Set Mode Conditions Memory Keyer Contents Switch Labels

Multiple Screens (Basic Operation) 4 screen colors for desired operating preferences Preferred for low light operations Preferred for well lighted areas

Multiple Fonts If you don’t like a certain display font, you can change it to one of the seven display fonts.

Display (Wide Mode) If there is too much data or the display is not large enough, the IC-756PRO has a wide display mode which allows you to see the lower portion in a larger format.

Set Modes (Basic) Operation settings are placed in a user friendly set mode menu. Using the soft keys, you can quickly change the most commonly used settings on the fly.

Set Mode (Audio Levels) Transmit audio is as easy to set as selecting the proper control and rotating the tuning dial.

Spectrum Scope Here is one of the beauties of the display. The spectrum scope can show active spectrum as well as display history with the max hold function.

Set Mode (Others) Even the set items are in a user friendly menu.

Display Set Mode Display Settings give you choices for Contrast, Brightness, Button Backlights, Display Type, Display Fonts, Memory Name, and Call Sign.

Memory Channel View Memory Alphanumeric with readout of Frequency, Mode, Filter Selection, and Channel Number.

Set Mode (Filters CW) CW filter selections as simple as 1, 2, 3. Select each filter setting by pushing the filter button. Then you can make changes on the fly with the Digital PBT. Also, the CW pitch changes the center frequency, which is shown on the display.

Set Mode (AGC) If the AGC is too fast or too slow, a quick setting change can make it just right. Also, different settings for different modes eliminates adjustments when hopping around the band.

Set Mode (Filters SSB) Several visual guides help see what is happening to your IF bandwidths. As with CW you can change the FIL1, FIL 2, and FIL 3 settings to what you want, then using the Digital Twin PBT can narrow or shift the IF bandwidth. It’s also great for teaching others in radio operation.

Filter Indicators Filter indicators located at the top of the TFT display give you a quick look at the filter status. BW being Bandwidth and the SFT being Shift, you can see what changes are made with the Digital Twin PBT. You can also see what filter you have selected, and the mode you are using.

Smart Keys ICOM Smart Key system changes with the mode and operations you use. No more guessing “ what mode do I use with what key?”    

Band Scope The Spectrum Scope first came out on the IC-781, then the IC-756, and now on the NEW IC-756PRO. The selections are 25, 100, and 200kHz wide with the displayed frequency being the center point of the display. There is also Sub marker and TX marker along with a Hold function.

Band Scope (Attenuator) What once took a S5 signal to see it on the scope is no longer the case. You can select from one of four attenuator levels. 10dB 20dB 30dB

Digital Voice Recorder New to the ICOM HF product line is the Digital Voice Recorder. It’s useful for both transmit and receive, with 4-15 second channels.

Dual Watch True in-band dual receive is possible with the IC-756PRO Dual Watch Mode. Same Band and same Mode is required.

RTTY Decoder Want to see if RTTY DX is coming in or just copy the ARRL Bulletins, without firing up the computer? The IC-756PRO RTTY Decoder is a nice little item. The IC-756PRO utilizes a Dual Automatic Peak filtering system along with a tuning indicator, making RTTY decoder tuning quite easy.
