3. Family His wife was Coretta. They had four children named Yolanda, Martin Luther III, Dexter, and Bernice.

4. Education In June 1948, he graduated with honors from Morehouse College. In 1955, he received his Ph.D. from Boston University.

5. Accomplishments He was valedictorian and he won the Pearl Plafker Award for most outstanding student. He led the Montgomery Bus Boycott. He helped start the Civil Rights Movement.
