GROWS Phase I (Accomplishments) – Formed GROWS – Polled group for expertise – Reviewed other state’s laws – Settled on current bills aka HB1607 and SB5477 – Bob and Pat to represent GROWS in Olympia – Found Sponsors and co-sponsors, dropped bills ahead of schedule and built a very constructive rapport with legislators and their Aids

GROWS Phase l (Cont) – Bob interviewed by KOMO Radio – Pat and Bob had meetings with the Northwest Women’s Law Center and the Christian Home Schooling Network. – Made contact with two law firms—in work – House and Senate committee Chairman intransigent in giving our bills a hearing – Working with Committee Members for support

Grows Phase I (Cont) – Bob testified at HB 2092 Hearing – Bob and Pat met with Marty Brown—Governor’s Leg. Dir. – Bob testified at Judiciary 3 rd Party Visitation work session.

GROWS Phase ll – Plan strategy – Group inputs – Put team together??? – Suggested issues to work on Northwest Women’s Law Center Christian Home Schooling Network Meet with Rep. Pedersen and Senator Hargrove in their district offices---work out acceptable language of bills

GROWS Phase ll (Cont) – Revise House and Senate Bills – Look in to legal advisors – Contact current sponsors and co-sponsors to continue their support in next session – Members to 24 th and 43 rd District to gain support from constituents of Pedersen and Hargrove – Continue whatever it takes to have bills ready to pre-file, Dec.----with agreement already reached

GROWS Phase II (Cont) – Need a presence in Eastern Washington to help coordinate with legislators – Continue to work and coordinate our bills with both Houses of the Legislature. – Change focus of bill to Grandchildren Visitation. – Submit two bills one for Grandchildren and one for Grandparents. – Work toward a successful outcome in the next session.
