1 Adding a Network Printer using Windows XP Anthony Technology Department

2 Go to the Start menu and click on “Run”

4 After you hit “OK”, a login screen will pop-up prompting you for a username and password. Login using the teacher username and password. Be sure to check “Remember My Password”. Don’t forget to check this box

5 This next screen contains all the printers. Find the printer you need and double-click on it. Defining a printer is simple. The printers are named as follows: CAMPUS-ROOM-MODEL For example, this printer is AES-LIBRARY-1300. In other words, AES means it’s located at Anthony Elementary School, LIBRARY means it’s in the library and 1300 means it’s a HP Laserjet 1300. Defining a printer is simple. 6 Once you’ve double-clicked on a printer, a box comes up asking if you would like to continue, click “Yes”. Another box will open showing that it’s connecting to the printer. It may take a few minutes to connect. Once it’s connected, you will see the printer queue / status screen appear.

7 You have successfully added a network printer. You can now choose this printer whenever you want to print a document.
