Why Pray God’s Word 1. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2. Genesis 1:3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 3. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double- edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Why Pray God’s Word 4. 1 John 5: This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us whatever we ask we know that we have what we asked of him. Clearly God has made some promises to His people. He will honor His Word.

Why Should We Pray The New Testament epistles reveal an intense devotional life of prayer in the ministry of Paul the apostle. Romans 1:9 "... without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers." 2 Corinthians 12:8 Ephesians 1:16 "Cease not ... making mention of you in my prayers." Philippians 1:3, 4 "Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy."

Why Should We Pray The early church knew the importance of prayer and intercession in behalf of its leaders. Acts 2:42 "And they continued steadfastly . in prayers…." Acts 1:14 "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication ..." Acts 12:5, 12 "... but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him." 2 Corinthians 1:11 "Ye also helping together by prayer for us ..."
