A brief history of St. John’s 5

May 24, 1891 6 In 1891 twelve dedicated men and women gathered in their newly acquired church facility in Sauk City to organize a Lutheran congregation

1912 7 In 1911 the Universalist congregation in PdS disbanded and their facility was purchased by St. John’s and dedicated in January, 1912. This building is now St. James Lutheran

1965 8 In the mid-1960’s St. John’s had again grown out their facility. With land purchased in the 1950s construction was started on Oak Street in 1965

37 By the mid- 1990’s we had outgrown our facility. Finance and building committees were formed, the congregation was polled for suggestions and a new direction to grow our ministry was established.
