3. In November of 1958 a group of Amateur Astronomers came together to form the South Shore Astronomical Society. The founding members had a desire to share their interest in Astronomy with like minded individuals. As well as share this interest and knowledge with the public.

5. Over its history the South Shore Astronomical Society has held its meetings at several locations. Wilder Memorial Hall, Hingham South Shore Natural Science Center, Norwell Council on Aging, Norwell
