3 In English, we show possession (who owns something) by adding: Apostrophe S (‘S)

4 In Spanish, we don’t have this (‘s). Instead, we can show possession by using the word “de,” which means ‘Of’ or ‘From’

5 To show possession in SPANISH: Say…. The item, then de, then the person it belongs to.

6 Ex: John’s dog = The dog of Juan (dog belongs to Juan): El perro de Juan. Mariana’s books = Los libros de Mariana.  The kids’ dog (belongs to more than 1 kid) El perro de los niños. 
