18 LM dipole status & plans – Fred Nobrega 18 Long Quadrupole (LQ) Workshop, February 7-9, 2007 Conclusion The scale up of the 1m model PIT magnets to 2m (PIT) & 4m (RRP) long mirror magnets is progressing without major surprises (so far). Design specific long tooling and manufacturing processes are a scale up of the 1m dipole magnet. Long generic tooling is from the LHC quadrupole program and will soon all be in IB3.
