(second logo) Areas Needing Improvement – Role Plays 2 Role Play 1 You are a supervisor. You hold regular meetings with your teams & these are going quite well – except for the attitude & behaviour of one employee. She is very domineering & she constantly interrupts other team members & you in particular. She is very dismissive of what you have to say & is sometimes quite rude & sarcastic towards you. She is otherwise very capable & hard-working. You know she thinks she could do your job better than you do.

(second logo) Areas Needing Improvement – Role Plays 3 Role Play 1 You are a very capable hard-working operator. You are very outgoing and talkative. You find your supervisor dull and think you could do his job better than him. You know that this affects the way you react to him. He wants to speak to you about your behaviour at team meetings.

You feel that he is very dismissive of new ideas in general & yours in particular. You also feel that he is especially quick to jump on you, when you get something wrong.

(second logo) Areas Needing Improvement – Role Plays 5 Role Play 2 (contd) You think this is partly because you joined the company only 6 months ago & all of the other supervisors have been with the company several years. You have asked for a meeting with your manager. Tell him/her how you feel.

He has only been in your team 6 months and you know he rubs you up the wrong way. You also know that this affects the way you respond to him. He is an excellent supervisor but you think he comes across as a right smart alec.

He feels very negative about the company and this is reflected in his behaviour and attitude at work. You know that the other production supervisors are getting fed up with his moaning and complaining and you think he is going to end up in trouble. Talk to him about this.

You dont feel that supervisors are well looked after. You feel that the management just want people who will do as theyre told and that no- one is interested in personal initiative. You have become more and more negative.
