Cause and Effect Cause- what makes something happen. Effect- something that happens.

Cause and Effect What would happen if somebody walked in the rain without an umbrella? The person would get wet. You just made a cause and effect connection.

Listen for Cause and Effect connections Jenny’s mother always told her to spit out her gum before she went to bed. However, Jenny loved chewing gum, so one night she kept chewing after she went to bed. She fell asleep, and the gum fell out of her mouth. When Jenny woke up, the chewing gum was on her pillow and in her hair. Jenny’s mother had to take her to get a haircut because they could not get the chewing gum out with shampoo.
