What’s new in FDM Version 11 (through 11.1.1.3) Presenter: John Von Allmen, CPA
2
2 2 Adaptors There are two types of Adaptors for FDM o Target Adaptors (Load to Target System) o Source Adaptors (Pull from Source System)
3
3 3 Adaptors - Target o Target Adaptors (Load to Target System) o Essbase/Planning o Financial Management o Hyperion Enterprise o Strategic Finance o Pull (Data Mart ) Adaptor (Customizable) o Tax (FDM Data Pull Adaptor)
4
4 4 Adaptors - Source o Source Adaptors (Pull from Source System) o Oracle E-Business Suite GL o SAP o ERPI (ERP Integration) Source Adaptors give you “drill-through” from FDM to the source system
5
5 SAP Source Adaptor o Starting with Version 11.1.1.2 o Works with SAP R/3 4.6c, ECC 6.0 o 1 st Generation (Test first, does it give you the detail information you require?) o Requires 2 pieces, FDM SAP Source Adaptor (SAP- FIN-A and a component from Bristlecone.
6
6 ERP Integrator o This is a new addition to this version that uses ODI (Oracle Data Integrator) to pull data from Oracle source systems. o ODI Must be installed in order to use this source adaptor.
7
7 7 Drill-Through
8
8 8 Enterprise Customers o Starting with Version Enterprise 6.5.1 o Enterprise can drill back to the source information in FDM. o Be careful will drill back using source adaptors from FDM. If using shared services cannot drill back to the source system, because Enterprise does not use shared services.
9
9 9 Drill-Through
10
10 Drill Through Gotchas o Dimensions are important for drill back and have to be exact. o Cannot use extra dimensions for extra information or for staging. o Hyperion Enterprise cannot be used with Shared Services components and drill through does not work for some items. o Be cautiously optomistic when using source adaptors. If you want to use them, try them, but make sure they give you the level of information that you require.
11
11 Multi-language support o English o French o German o Danish Easy to tell what languages are supported in your version by looking at reports in the workbench.
12
12 Shared Services Integration o Shared Services can be used with FDM. o This is good for user names. o Utility User Migration will help move users onto Shared Services. o Shared services does not maintain FDM Internal Security. Still must maintain in FDM.
13
13 EPM Installer o FDM with Version 11 is part of the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installer. o All software in installed with a common installer.
