New UC Admissions Policy (2012) No SAT Subject Exams required (removed “unnecessary barrier”) ELC top 9% of HS (undisclosed benchmark GPA) Statewide path- top 9% CA Must have 11 of the 15 A-G courses completed by end of junior year. All students meeting requirements will receive a comprehensive review UC freshman profile: 24 A-G courses complete 3.86 GPA 1782 SAT; 26 ACT

SAT / ACT Colleges accept highest score of either SAT or ACT. UC’s – use highest sitting CSU’s and most privates – best combo score Deadline for testing- November/December!! TEST SCORES MUST BE SENT DIRECTLY FROM TESTING AGENCY !! (ie, Collegeboard or ACT.org) ◦ CSU CODE- 3594 ◦ NCAA- 9999 ◦ UC’s- List one school then give permission on college application to share with all campuses.

Community College www.cccd.edu (Coastline Community College District) www.cccco.edu (California Community Colleges) www.cccco.edu 100+ California Community Colleges Local, inexpensive option to continue schooling Wide choice of programs to enter vocational fields or transfer to four-year universities. Admission Requirements: ◦ HS graduate or 18+ ◦ No SAT/ACT ◦ Placement test in Spring (SOAR) ◦ CA community college students receive priority transfer to UC/CSU’s!

Final Thoughts Keep copies of everything!! Senior year DOES COUNT! All acceptances conditional dependent on final grades and maintaining same level of eligibility. Change in schedule- students MUST notify colleges; better yet- ask permission first!
