What are they? Sequence diagrams are a way of showing the order in which things happen. You will often find them used in:- Instruction manuals Cookery Books Model Kits Dress-making patterns

Example 1 Changing the ink in a drawing pen

Example 2 Making a rivet joint Here the diagram is accompanied with text.

How do we plan one? To make a sequence diagram you must decide on: How much information to give How many steps or stages involved The correct order of these stages Sequence diagrams must be well organised so that they are easy to follow. Words or pictures must be simple, clear and easy to follow.
