Following the Audit Trail The audit trail is a linked chain of evidence Following the trail enables processes to be checked from start to finish An audit trail often enables checking of several indicators simultaneously It enables auditors to choose samples and check from real life examples

Audit Trail Exercise Working in small groups: You have 15 minutes to identify the key components of an audit trail for a number of indicators. Answer the questions on the worksheet, based on the evidence needed for these indicators Give feedback to the whole group
