Retest in Michigan IPP Sites o oJanuary – September, 2009 o o7,085 individuals tested positive for either chlamydia or gonorrhea in Michigan’s IPP supported sites. o oApril – December, 2009 o o1,051 clients (15%) returned for a retest. o oOf the 1,051, 20%, were positive at the time of the retest, 42 – GC (4%), and 169 – CT (16%).

Wayne County Jail o oTOTAL (N=612 ~300F/300M) o oGC: 5.1%; CT: 13.7%; Dual Infection: 2.6% o oMALE o oGC: 6.3%; CT: 19.2%; Dual Infection: 3.1% o oFEMALE o oGC: 3.8%; CT: 8.4%; Dual Infection: 2.0% Average for non STD clinic IPP sites – ~1.7% GC, 7.6% CT

NCC Mini-Grant o oKey project components: 1. 1.Client focus groups 2. 2.Introductory Dinner/Workshop for targeted providers 3. 3.On-site Provider Meetings (OPMs) (N=20) 4. 4.Statewide educational mailing to eligible female Molina members (N=9,000) 5. 5.Targeted mailing, with incentive (N=350) 6. 6.3 and 6 months follow-up visits with targeted providers 7. 7.Designation of the top performing site as “Site of Excellence”

FY 2011 Changes in Specimen Source o oSelf-Collected Vaginal Swab o oFinalized new lab contract with GenProbe o oDeveloped educational packet o oConducted telephone information/feedback sessions o oProceeding o oRectal and Pharyngeal Swabs o oLimited - Lansing laboratory only o oNot intended for population based screening o oMDCH recommends the use of this test only for patients with symptoms or known exposure
