In 2010 the partners…. -Did much empirical work: the household survey and governance case studies -Collectively guided and supervised 8 MSc theses (one still to be finished) -Finalised a draft book chapter presenting the results of the HH survey -Wrote a technical brief about the household survey Looking back

Structuring our work For 2011 we have the following deliverables: D6.3 Report on experiments to analyse informal institutions (Month 30). D6.4 Results of the comparison between the case studies (Month 30). D6.5: Final report on socio-economic vulnerability (Month 30).

D6.3 Experiments We will assess the potential for community co- management in Vietnam, India and Costa Rica. Simple games to assess Behavioral motives and the likelihood of cooperation. 3 Students with CS partners (1 per country). Planned for April-May, about 4 villages per CS (link with HH survey, with WP3, WP8, WP9 and depending on design also for WP 4 and 5).

D6.4 Case study comparison Focuses on multilevel decision processes analyzed by three students (SA, India, CR) and Farhad (VN). Further empirical analysis: 3 further student reports on the application of international policy principles (such as co-management) in India, Vietnam, and Costa Rica (1 student per country). Planned for April- May (link with WP9).

Publications+ deliverables Comparative analysis of social capital and opportunities for co-management spread over 2 journal papers = Deliverable 6.3 (lead Jetske); CS partners in India, Vietnam, Costa Rica inolved. Comparative analysis of decision processes in all case studies, one summarizing article = Deliverable 6.4 (lead Farhad) + individual case study articles; CS partners + LiU + Dundee involved.

Publications+ deliverables Policy brief with overall conclusions and recommendations from the WP = Deliverable 6.5 (lead Jetske and Dave); CS partners + LiU + Dundee. Msc.-theses 7 published already, 6 more planned for 2011. Comparative book chapter on the basis of HH survey (accepted Cambridge). Technical brief about governance analysis. Several conference papers and contributions to LD books; involvement as wide as possible.
