How to Apply for College Select colleges Choose 6 1-2 long shots 2 very desirables 2 probables Request applications (typically online) Check admission requirements, application deadlines Start writing practice admission essays NOW Start arranging letters of recommendation (2 week notice required)

Students can afford college! Financial aid & scholarships may cover a large part of the COA for the students’ school of choice. Community colleges offer substantial savings on tuition. Private colleges may provide enough grant and scholarship money to make the cost of attendance equal to or less than the cost of a public institution.

FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid U.S. Department of Education www.fafsa.ed.gov You must complete and submit a FAFSA to apply for federal student aid and apply for most state and college aid. Complete and submit as soon after January 1 st as possible, but before March 1st December 3 at 7pm South Medford High School
