What is a preposition? A word that shows the relationship of a noun or pronoun to another word.

Prepositional Phrases
Preposition + noun/pronoun = prepositional phrase. The noun or pronoun are also called the object of the preposition. Articles can also be found in prepositional phrases.

Example Carter got picked up down the street.
-- the noun STREET is the object of the preposition DOWN.

You can find the cafeteria right by the school library.
The baseball sailed right over the tall fence. Crazy Evan took his math test with a bright green crayon. Use the ladder that is leaning against the wall. There was a big battle at this location centuries ago. The papers fell to the floor. The mouse ran quickly but quietly along the hallway’s edge. The balloon floated gently over the valley. The bullet went right through the thick wooden door.
