A network is 2 or more computers connected to each other.

A lan is a network that is connections usually within a small place like a house. They exist in a single location. One administrator controls the lan.

A wan is a 2 or more lans in 2 different locations like from palmer to wassila. An example is the internet consisting millions of lans.

A Wlan is a lan connected using wi-fi instead of using copper cabling. These access points use wi-fi and copper cabling to connect to the network. The Wlan can span 30m in all directions indoors.

Each person is responsible for their own resources. There is no central administration or security. As the number of computers increases on this network the harder it is to control it. There is no centralized storage and each pc must perform there own backup.

The client requests a task or information from the server then the server provides what has been requested is provided Network administrators provide updates, backups, and restrictions. Each user has to have a username and password. One example is an e-mail server.
