5. Why Switch? ● Grade Quick talks to CIMS but not always in the same language ● CIMS runs in DOS…you know the black screen with green letters ● Sometimes information is missing when moved from Grade Quick to CIMS ● Infinite Campus will make our data management more efficient

8. ● When you click on your class, you will see the roster of students. ● All students are shown as present (P). ● If a student isn’t present, simply click in the A for absent. ● When done, click on save and the report goes to the attendance office. ● If a student arrives late, change to T and re-save.

9. ● When in your rosters, you will notice a comments column. ● Although you can type into the gray boxes, the messages are read by the attendance clerk and will be replaced with notes they have to add to the student record.

10. ● Infinite Campus has been used for 10 years and has never been hacked by a student. ● However, if you forget to logoff and a student sits at your computer, they can manipulate all of your data. ● When not in use, always log off of the website.

11. ● If for some reason you think your grade books have been manipulated by someone other than you, you can use the access log to check.

12. Frequently Asked Questions What if a student has a pass to leave for an appointment? Attendance office will mark when given the note. What if I give a pass to the nurse’s office to a student? Mark them present. What if I make a mistake? Re-save attendance with the corrections. What if I have a sub? They use paper/pencil method and will turn into main office when they sign out for the day.

13. Frequently Asked Questions Will attendance change from our current system? Attendance will still be done during first period on paper and added to your grade book by the end of the day. All teachers will be required to enter attendance for all classes by the end of the day. Attendance is nice, but how do I set up my grade books? Over the next 5 weeks, you will receive a one hour training on how to set up your grade books. It is not difficult, but it is different. Therefore, please do not try to set up your grade books on your own. If you make a mistake, we may not be able to fix it for you and you will have to deal with OZ.
