2 1. The ‘team’ has not met - sorry 2. I have produced a “first draft” of a “Guide” (copies circulated) 3. I will run through the Guide now 4. Discuss it 5. Feedback please - to be considered by the team 6. A draft final version to be ready for Chichester

6 A Benchmarks A1 - The population of your council’s area A2 – Your precept for the year A3 – Your total income for the year. A4 – Your total staff costs for the year A5 – Your total expenditure for the year A6 – The tax base for your area A7 – The value of your council’s assets

11 F Specific Services Use the standard “quality” and “quantity” indicators as set out in Section A and Section B as the main indicators for each key service In addition, use the general principles set out in the Guide to form your own indicators for specific services which you operate.

12 Next Steps Still some way to go… Extra comments welcome on the bits in red - Feedback please Is this the right balance? – too prescriptive or too woolly? Are the indicators workable? - try and use a few Setting “common” indicators will mean some compromises – worth it to achieve some more standardised system? The “project team” will discuss the feedback A “final draft” to be ready for Chichester meeting. Then some formal “trial” before it is formally ‘published’?
