Parliamentary Placement Scheme What is it? –Summer placement in Welsh Assembly or House of Commons –Placement with an AM/MP or Political Party –Varied work –Usually last 4 - 6 weeks

Parliamentary Placement Scheme What are we looking for? –Second year students – single honours, joint or major/minor –Competitive application process –Not necessarily just academic high flyers –Good ambassadors

Parliamentary Placement Scheme Funding –Awards of £250 will be given to successful candidates

Parliamentary Placement Scheme How do I apply? –Complete application form –Curriculum Vitae –Covering letter –Passport sized photograph –Deadline: Monday 11 November 2013

Parliamentary Placement Scheme What happens next? –Submit application by deadline - Monday 11 November –Department to draw up shortlist and inform applicants –Interviews conducted – Provisional date 3/4 December –Shortlisted candidates informed of outcome –Start matching students with MPs and AMs –Once placement confirmed, MP or AM to contact student to finalise arrangements, accommodation and security pass
