Maj. Gregory Pappy Boyington This was the ace that had 30 victories. He fought in the Pacific War against the Japanese. He commanded the legendary squadron Black Sheep. Here is the plane he flew. Conclusion There were many planes and many aces to fly them. The Germans had the ME-109 and Erich Hartmann. We had the F4U Corsair and Pappy Boyington. In every way, it was a pretty fair war.
