 Science Fiction is a type of fiction based in scientific possibilities.  Science Fiction has both real and fictional aspects of science that are incorporated into the story.  Science Fiction shows predictions and ideas about various scientific phenomena that could be proven one day.  The definition of Sci Fi is constantly changed and meshed with other genres via various media outlets( books, television, movies etc.)  Ask someone who speaks “Klingon”

 Planet of the apes  Independence Day  Mars Attacks  I am Legend  Men In Black  Alien  Terminator  Total Recall  Star Wars  AI  ET  Starship Troopers  Contact  Children of Men  Pi  I, Robot

 Science Fiction is not considered Fantasy because most of the fictional elements are possible and have at least some scientific validity  Even though there are still some elements which may not be accurate, stories are mostly based on rational possibilities.  Genre is modified and overlaps with other genres.

 The Last Man by Mary Shelley was written in 1826 and is a story about the Earth after the apocalypse.  Frankenstein by Mary Shelley was written in 1818. The story of a man being revived from the dead is considered one of the first Science Fiction novels.  The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells was written in 1898. It depicts an aliens who have advanced weaponry and invade Earth.

 Time travel, time modification. End of time. Wormholes  Alternate universe, multiple universes, space travel.  Aliens from outer space, non human creatures of all kinds, many can speak English.  Superhuman powers, exploration of space, hyperspace  Futuristic advanced societies, giant spaceships  Robots, artificial intelligence, robot takeover.  Non existent technology is used in films and later is materialized in real life (Jetpacks, laser beams, space travel. Used to be fiction)

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdrqeAKNLM8 &feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdrqeAKNLM8 &feature=related  The space station is the focus in this scene.  The lighting was high contrast and the spaceships can be seen clearly.  The camera is very far away from the shot it shows miles of outer space.  The Dominant color pitch black space. The space ship and planet earth and the moon are shown also.  Special effects are used to depict the scene but they look very crisp even though this was made in 1968.  The focal point of the scene is the space ship entering the spinning space station in a calculated and beautiful way.

 Density of scene :The Scene is moderatley dense. The spaceship gracefully enters the space station to the tune of “The Blue Danube”  Other shots are the view from the spaceship cockpit entering the station. The giant hub in the station is shown also.  The textures are moderate.  The perspectives in this shot are from third person views in outer space, the cockpit, and the landing zone.  The characters are cramped in this scene but the space ship cockpit looks similar to real cockpits.

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaLvcM-u4ns http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaLvcM-u4ns  Neo and Agent Smith are the dominant focus in the scene. There is an underlying theme of man vs. machine.  The lighting is relatively low key to show the darkness of the subway tunnel.  Since this is a fight scene the camera gets close to the action. Neo and the agent are shot on the same zoom and similar frame to show that they are equally matched in the battle. If a particular blow is intense the camera zooms in on the impact.  The camera makes an effort to stay eyelevel with the fast paced fight scene.  The scene seems to be shot with a dominant green tint. The color symbolizes the alternate universe of the Matrix.

 The underground lights of the subway create a sharp contrast with the dark tint of the scene.  The density of the fight scene isn’t too packed with detail. The stark picture seems to better focus the viewer on the battle.  A lot of perspective shots are present especially when Neo and Agent Smith taunt each other in the beginning of the scene.  The structure of the subway tunnel closes the form of the scene pretty well. Agent Smith symbolizes what is suppressing Neo’s journey. Once he is defeated, Neo can return to the surface; so, the tunnel is convenient.  The characters have a great amount of space to move around because it is a fight scene. And no objects hinder this battle in the alternate universe of the Matrix.
