Lesson 10 - Lesson objective To investigate organisations and private practitioners that deliver health care, social care and early years services Success criteria Build – Looking at the hierarchy ladders and service structures you are asked to place the jobs in the correct service structure. You will work as a group and discuss the outcome. Apply – you will compile a glossary of terms using evidence from your field study. You will then code the evidence collected into Health, Social Care or Early Years and identify which groups use these services Secure - AfL identify two uses that each service provides.

Questions Looking at the bundle of titles can you tell me which services are provided for young children, then adults and finally older people? What sector do each of the services come under: Health services Social Care services Children and young people services

Task 1 Define the following, which groups would use which sectors Optician Pharmacist Paediatrician Orthodontist Consultant Psychiatrist Physiotherapist Babies and children Adolescents Adults Older people People with disabilities

Task 2 Now using evidence from your town trail/field study and using the chart on page 40 in the H&SC theory books highlight which services were available. Code them in different colours Health, Social Care or Early Years Now write next to the services you came across in your field study who uses the services.

Task 3 - Theory There are many specialist medical and nursing services, physiotherapy, psychology, occupational therapy, complementary therapies all linked to health and education for early years. In addition specialist educational and training services are schemes to help rehabilitate people. Can you name any?
