2. Some information about Vidin town: Vidin is a regional town in northwestern Bulgaria, located along the Danube. Vidin is small but beautiful. It is a town with history. It was created in ancient times. The fortress "Baba Vida", located on the bank of the Danube and surrounded by a moat, is the main landmark of the city and the only entirely preserved medieval fortress in Bulgaria.

13. Vidin is the 20th largest town in Bulgaria. The population of the whole northwestern Bulgaria has decreased since 1946. This reduction is particularly sensitive in Vidin District, which in 1946 has so far been melted in half. In many municipalities is observed depopulation of the population (the proportion of pensioners is over 30%). Currently Vidin Region is the smallest in terms of population in Bulgaria, while the area is the 15th out of all the 28 districts.
