Objectives On successful completion of the module, students will be able to: Explain the concept of Information Security and its significance. Explain the concept of Cryptography and its mechanisms (encryption, MAC, etc.). Practice, and analyse a number of cryptographic schemes (historical, symmetric, and asymmetric). Demonstrate a good knowledge of a number of Information Security fields, including: Identification & Authentication, Access Control, Network Security, and Web Security.

Grading 1st midterm (15%) will be on the 8th week of the semester. 18 March,2014 ,Tuesday 6th lecture. 2nd midterm (20%) will be on the 12th week of the semester. 17 April,2014, Thursday 6th lecture. Quizzes(10%). Quiz 1 : At Thursday 6th lecture week# (13,March,2014) Quiz 2: At Tuesday 6th lecture week#12. (15,April,2014) Seminar(5%) will be on 14th week of semester (30 April,2014), Wednesday. Project (10%). Final exam (40%).
