These students are not normally the ‘high achievers’ in academic subjects, preferring playing their sport, rather than ploughing through paperwork. These materials are to either help them within the curriculum area. We intend to deviate away from the normal methods of teaching and assessment, and to introduce new learning styles that should appeal to the students. Aims:

Health & Safety is a ‘dry’ subject that is difficult for the students to engage with. This in turn means that the tutors have more problems with the students during the lesson as they are more easily distracted away from the subject. Staff shortages have made it difficult to get cover to enable the practitioners to progress the project within the scheduled action plan. Lack of reply for permission from the makers of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has caused a complete rebuild of the ‘flash’ game.

It should make it easier for them to engage and learn the subject of Health & Safety in Sport. The students should be able to learn at their own pace and not necessarily within the normal confines offered by the usual methods of teaching They should get ‘more out of it’, more fulfilment.
