We are going to look at how information can be collected and how it can be shown in different ways: As a bar chart As a pie chart As a line graph

Collecting information Information can be collected using a questionnaire. A questionnaire is made up of a number of questions. Answers to questions may be a number, a word or a tick. The answers are collected and used to produce charts and graphs.

Bar charts

Bar charts show fixed measurements. You can look for the tallest or smallest bars. You can compare one bar to another bar.

Pie charts

Pie charts are broken into segments. The largest segment is the most common item. Segments of the pie chart can be compared.

Line graph

Line graphs show a measurement over time. The line graph shows the temperature in the classroom rising and falling.

We are now going to collect information about ourselves using a questionnaire.
