Infant Baptism Parents choose to have the baptism. Usually a name is announced at the ceremony Godparents are appointed Promises are made by parents & God-parents about the child It is expected that there will be a confirmation service in the future. Water is sprinkled, or poured over the child’s head. Adult Baptism The person chooses for themselves. The person will already have a name. There are no Godparents. The person gives a testimony or answers questions about their faith. The baptism is a declaration of the persons choice of faith. In some denominations the baptism is by immersion.
