Jesus says, “If you have been listening to what I have told you today and you do it, this is what you are like - you are like a builder who builds a house.” Luke 6:47-48, paraphrased

One who listens to Jesus. One who ignores him.

Love God and do what pleases him
Tell the truth and keep their promises
Look out for others and do all they can to help
Forgive those who hurt them
Trust God and talk to him about everything.

Wise or foolish?
Listening to Jesus? Or ignoring Jesus?

6. Back to School with God Use your fists to build a tower.
Put down a fist, saying together:
Thank you God, that you teach us how to live.
Put a second first on top of the first, saying:
Help us to be wise builders, dig down deep and build our lives on you.
Repeat 5 times.

Wanting to know Jesus and how to follow him
Wanting to talk to him during the school day
Belonging to church or school SU group
Knowing that easy things are not always the best things.

Pray aloud together, saying:
Thank you, Jesus, for your words. Thank you that you are our Rock, our helper.
Teach us to listen and obey you.
Help us to build our lives on you.
Amen.

friends falling out
family break-up
worry
sickness
exams
Jesus will help me! I will keep trusting him, no matter what.
Help! I have nowhere to turn.

Comfort, strengthen and keep you
He is willing to aid you,
He will carry you through.’
