7. Something to Think About? How would young people with special needs cope with the game you have just played? What would need to be changed? Are there any other tasks at your section evenings that would need changing if a young person with special needs turned up?

8. Try this…. Using the disabilities factsheets, think about how the programme at your group would need to be adapted to cope with some of the special needs mentioned. So what have you been doing and what have you identified that you would have to do differently?

9. More to Think About? Is the word “special” correct? Remember your yellow card! Are you perfect? Would you laugh at a disabled person? How would you cope? Are people with special needs more open to emotional abuse? Could you learn anything from someone with special needs?
