Leadership Styles Directive Supportive Democratic Passive Organiser

Directive Formal Clear & concise instructions Situations where control is required Can be overpowering

Supportive Informal Suggest answers to problems Situations where you can afford to be laid back Young People may not feel as if they are being led or supported

Democratic Formal/Informal Includes all in the final decision Situations where you feel others views are required Young People feel as if they are part of the activity being run

Passive Very Informal Let the Young People find answers to their problems/lead Allows the Young People to decide Requires close monitoring to ensure safety

Organiser Is a planning style Responsibility for an outcome You set the outcome Relies on other people to lead the activity
