Royal Mail Mailmark ® Mailmark™ provides mail users with a new level of management information consignment level reporting on when mail is processed predicted delivery information item level data on exceptions To get this information, mail will need to be produced differently and data may need to be handled differently This is a quick guide to what you will need to do in order to start producing Mailmark™ mail Royal Mail Mailmark ®

Mailmark™ is an attribute of Business, Advertising and Publishing mail It is available with Low Sort (machinable) options of those services Mailmark™ services can be accessed through both Retail and Network Access channels High volume mailers (posting millions of items a year) are likely to get the most benefit from Mailmark™ services Who is Mailmark ™ for?
4
Royal Mail Mailmark ® Each mailpiece needs to have a barcode/2D datamatrix (a Mailmark™) printed on to it – the existing Royal Mail barcode (CBC) is not required Each Mailmark™ must contain a unique item reference number and Supply Chain ID – Royal Mail issues the Supply Chain ID, you are responsible for creating item reference numbers An electronic register (eManifest) of these item reference numbers must be provided to Royal Mail before the mail is handed over Reports will be generated and viewable at www.royalmail.com So what’s new?
5
Royal Mail Mailmark ® All supporting documentation is available on the Mailmark™ website A number of third party software suppliers can support the creation of the Mailmark™ barcode and eManifest – details can be found at www.royalmail.com/mailmarkwww.royalmail.com/mailmark We will give you access to a test site to enable you to check that your web services are working We offer a Quality Assurance process so that you can run a full test of your solution before you mail for the first time How do I do it?
6
Royal Mail Mailmark ® eManifests must be unique to Supply Chains – you may be producing several eManifests each day What you put into an eManifest must match what you actually mail on any given day You will need to manage the allocation of item reference numbers – these must stay unique for 90 days within a Supply Chain You will need to work with your customers to ensure that they can understand the information we provide in reports – we can help with this as you get closer to mailing What else do I need to consider?
7
Royal Mail Mailmark ® This is the first stage in a 5 step journey to realising the benefits of Mailmark™ At each stage we can provide a wealth of supporting material We will also run regular workshops to go into more detail and answer your questions The Mailmark™ Customer Take-on team will be available to provide more individual support if required What support will I get?
